Data Privacy Policy

Castle House Dental Practice is under a legal duty to protect any personal information we collect and we will only use that information in accordance with the law, including the Data Protection Act. We use leading technologies and encryption software to safeguard data and apply strict security standards to prevent any unauthorised access to it.

All data is processed as a Legal Obligation to ensure medico-legal records are maintained and stakeholder payments recorded appropriately.

We will presume that by providing us with details and information to obtain our services you are consenting to us using these details to provide our services to you.

In order to carry out our functions and provide healthcare effectively, we will sometimes need to share information with other healthcare providers, including hospital departments, the emergency services, specialist practitioners,  and public authorities (such as NHS Highland) and organisations acting on our behalf. However, we will only do this where it is permitted by law

When we ask you for personal information, we promise:

  • To make sure you know why we need it;
  • To only ask for what we need, and not to collect too much or irrelevant information;
  • To protect it and make sure nobody has access to it who shouldn’t;
  • To let you know if we share it with other organisations to give you better public services – and if you can say no;
  • To make sure we don’t keep it longer than necessary; and
  • Not to make your personal information available for commercial use without your permission.

In return we ask you to:

  • Give us accurate information; and
  • Tell us as soon as possible if there are any changes, such as a new address.

We make every effort to safeguard the information that you provide to us.

We will never pass your details to third party companies.

We may require you to sign a form to allow release of information to other dentists, insurance companies or solicitors even if they are working on your instructions.
